This term our topic is Land Ahoy and we are having a lot of fun learning all about pirates. For one of our wow days we organised a whole school trip to Bristol. The trip consisted of a ‘Pirate Walk’ with ‘Pirate Pete’ and ‘Dangerous Duncan’ learning all about Bristol’s turbulent Pirate history, and the harbour side haunts of the pirates and swashbucklers of the 17th and 18th centuries. The children also visited the ‘M Shed’ to explore the history of Bristol. Rabbits class went to look at a ship called The Matthew . They were doing repairs but the lady very kindly came and told us all about the ship and the sailors. The sun was shining on us all day and there so many pirate jokes being told. The children were particularly excited about eating their lunch today.
There will be more pictures to come but here are a few.
