Berkley School's STEM Project
Berkley School successfully bid for funds to run an exciting STEM Project across the Frome Learning Partnership. We are proud to lead an exciting STEM project with the aim of engaging young children into STEM subjects as well as STEM careers. Recently Mr Banton organised for the 6 schools recruited to visit Whatley Quarry with the focus being STEM careers. This resulted in a competition for the children to design and engineer an end of quarry restoration project. The partnership has allowed all schools to attend CPD within Somerset as well as the National STEM Centre at York enabling us to share good practice and expertise amongst the Frome Schools. He also ran a successful STEM Fayre that was held at Selwood Academy which was very well attended. We aim for this partnership to continue with the intention of recruiting more schools and local businesses.
