St Mary’s Church
Berkley Children have two assemblies per week in the church.
These are on a Monday and Friday
They also have special celebratory assemblies in the church.
The children across the school are invited by Mrs Hooper to take part in regular Family Services and lead part of the service. This is a fantastic opportunity for their Public Speaking and Presenting skills. The children learn about the bible and share their knowledge with the local congregation.
Mrs Hooper works with Mrs White (PCC) to organise a class rota for the family services.
Mrs Langton works with Our Year 4’s so that they can lead the School’s Harvest Festival and then the whole school decorate the church. By the end of the Year Mrs Langton’s Year 4’s lead their Leavers Service.
Every year Berkley Children take part in a fabulous Easter Service and Christmas Nativity.
The children always enjoy visiting the church and learning more about what you can see in a church. They also use the grounds in their investigative tasks.
Fundraising for the Church
Once a Year the children take part in a Gift aid day to help raise valuable funds for the Church.
The Children also once a week bring a collection to the service to help raise funds for the church.
There are also quiz’s, plant sale and special services to help raise funds for the church.
