We would like to warmly welcome you and your child to Berkley School
DEAR PARENTS AND CARERS
I would like to welcome you to Berkley First School. Thank you for visiting our website. You will find information on all aspects of our school life and its community. The combination of our vibrant and exciting passion for education with our calm and nurturing environment makes our school a great place for all to learn.
Berkley School is, set in a semi-rural village location. Our grounds surround the school; we have a range of outside areas all of which enhance our children’s creative outside learning experience.
We are a small school with big ideas where each child can flourish and thrive, and we believe that a strong, supportive relationship between home and school right from the start helps children settle happily and smoothly into school.
We strive to continue to provide an outstanding curriculum and learning experience for all our children.
I do hope you take time to view our website and if you would like to come and see the school in action, please contact us via telephone or email.

Berkley School encourages open communication between home and school by producing regular newsletters to parents. Parents are able to email school or pick up the phone as we are always available to help. Our school web site is also a great way to check for important school information and see what your child has been up to in school and at recent events.
We often have articles in the local Paper to share all of the exciting events in school with our wider community.
Your child will be regularly offered the opportunity to take part in school, church community services.
We are always looking for volunteers who can give time to help in school. this can be by:
- supporting reading, writing, numeracy, art, design and technology or other areas of the curriculum
- supporting with the weekly visits for swimming.
- supporting trips and visits in the town and beyond.
Prior to commencing your work in school all helpers will be required to have successfully completed a DBS disclosure form which helps us ensure we are safeguarding all our pupils.
