We all had a very inspiring day with Pete Stevenson, a performance poet who spent the day with us teaching the children about democracy and equality. This helped to promote the British Values the government have asked schools to teach and the Christian Values of Justice, Trust and Hope.
The school council discussed their roles and responsibilities as elected members of the school council and drew up an action plan.
The children then acted out different scenarios of playground behaviour using puppets. The children thought about how they would feel in the situations and how to make things better and be inclusive. The older children wrote an exciting rap that promoted democracy and equality.
