World Book Day

World Book Day

Through out the week the pupils have been celebrating the wonderful array of literature on offer to us all. During Mondays assembly they thought about the way books transform us to new places or take us back in time and we imagined what our dream library would look like. The pupils have shared their favourite locations for reading a book and we have heard from celebrities about their reasons for having a favourite child hood author. On World book day the pupils all had an opportunity to read to each other in the hall, the teachers made this into a cosy read. Within their classes all the pupils took part in different activities, some have entered competitions and others have created a display. The younger pupils learnt a song for stories and made bookmarks. We gathered together to value everyone’s efforts and each class stood up to do a twirl. One person from each class was chosen to receive a bedtime story sack. We also had a book swap.
