Berkley School is a successful small rural school known for its caring ethos. It provides an idyllic environment for children’s physical, intellectual, spiritual, moral and social development. It is important to us all at Berkley to work as a team and we are all proud of our Berkley community. We hope our website gives you a flavour of who we are and what we do and provides you with a valuable source of information.
The expresssion ‘Each Child is MY Child’ summarises the school’s approach. We want each child to be cherished, supported, listened to, challenged, stimulated and indeed corrected, as we would our own.

Berkley School successfully bid for funds to run an exciting STEM Project across the Frome Learning Partnership. We are proud to lead an exciting STEM project with the aim of engaging young children into STEM subjects as well as STEM careers. Recently Mr Banton organised for the 6 schools recruited to visit Whatley Quarry with the focus being STEM careers. This resulted in a competition for the children to design and engineer an end of quarry restoration project. The partnership has allowed all schools to attend CPD within Somerset as well as the National STEM Centre at York enabling us to share good practice and expertise amongst the Frome Schools. He also ran a successful STEM Fayre that was held at Selwood Academy which was very well attended. We aim for this partnership to continue with the intention of recruiting more schools and local businesses.
Congratulations to Mr Banton and the team for gaining the School Games Silver Award. June 2019. Congratulations to Mrs Hooper and the team for gaining the E-Safety Award for the third time July 2019
