St John’s Church and the Well Dressing for St Aldhelm Day.
The children have enjoyed being involved, again this year, in decorating a panel for the Well Dressing at St. John’s church Frome. The theme this year was being a good neighbour and we decorated the panel about the help that was given to people during the floods on the Somerset Levels.
Rabbits and Squirrels classes went on a visit to St John’s church to learn about St Aldhelm, the patron saint and founder of Frome and the well dressing. They also looked for similarities and differences between St John’s and St Mary’s Berkley. We then walked down Cheap Street following the course of the water from the well and on to the river Frome.
I would like to say a big thank you to the parents and children who attended the Well Dressing Service.
