Pete the Poet visited us again. He talked to all the children in assembly, and encouraged them to think about issues around equality and diversity, as well as fair trade and refugees. He praised the respect they showed towards photographs of children from other cultures that he presented to them. The children left the assembly with thoughts and questions to ponder about world and local issues! Pete then did two workshops with Owls and Badgers. They did one on telling stories using puppets, on themes of bullying and fairness. The second workshop involved the children creating a huge banner with pictures and symbols about peace, friendship and hope. Their joint work is now displayed outside Owl Class.
