We had an exciting visit from Pete the Poet to celebrate World Book Day. He talked to Y3, 4 and Reception children in assembly, and encouraged them to think about issues around equality and diversity, and how we can learn from stories from other cultures.
The children left the assembly dancing to the Bob Marley song, One World. Each class had a workshop with Pete. They told stories using puppets, on themes of bullying and fairness; wrote poems and raps on friendship and helping each other and used musical instruments to tell stories from different cultures. At the end of the day we all got together to share what we had done in the workshops.
