Today was a very exciting day at school .
In 1990 a time capsule was put together by Berkley school to be opened 25 years later.
This was safely stored at Longleat house in their library. This year is the 25th year and few weeks ago our chair of Governors and Headteacher visited Longleat to collect it . There are some parents of our children attending now that took part in making the box . They also came to the assembly with Mrs O’Shea who worked then and Mr Packer who was the head teacher. We will be scanning and posting pictures of lots of the items in the box and will post them on the website too. There are lots of photographs of the school, children and staff. There is also lots of examples of work and art . There are some thought provoking ideas about what they thought the world would be like in 25 years !! However the jokes that were written are just the same and we could have used them in our crackers at Christmas. There were lots of items from 25 years ago, The Somerset Times, The Radio Times , stamps , money and information about the local area. All the children will get a chance to have a good look in the box .We intend to make a new time capsule again this year.
